home about software support order images/contact.jpg

To better assist you with hardware that is compatible with our software, we've put together this requirements page.  Please note that we sell POS hardware that is 100% compatible with either of our software programs.  We offer a 1-year warrantee on all POS hardware options.

If you choose to get your POS hardware elsewhere and/or select different models than we use, you're on your own with compatibility and setup.

Additional information on connecting all POS hardware can be found on our new connections page!

Computer:

  • Any IBM compatible PC or Laptop- no Mac's, sorry.
  • Any chip maker is fine.
  • In general, any PC or Laptop made in the last 6 years will run our software and hardware just fine.
  • Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, XP Pro, Vista, Windows 7 all work great with ConsignPro.

Visit our Connections webpage for specifics on hooking up your hardware.

Scanning Gun:  Should be a USB connected scanning gun that can recognize "Code-39" style barcodes.  Most fit this profile.

Receipt Printers:  We currently use the Star TSP653 thermal receipt printer with auto-cutter.  We also can work with the Star SP200, Star SP2000 and Star TSP643 receipt printers.  We are not compatible with Epson receipt printers.

Cash Drawer:  Must plug directly into the bottom of the receipt printer.  It may not plug into a COM, USB, or Parallel port on the computer.

Thermal tag printers:  We currently use the Zebra LP2824 thermal tage printer.  We have also had previous success with the Zebra LP2443, Zebra LP2622, Zebra LP2722, or Zebra LP2844 printers.  We are not compatible with the Dymo brand of barcode printers.

Printers in General:  In general, any InkJet or LaserJet printer can be used with ConsignPro to print reports, statements, checks, tags, labels, and customer receipts.

For pricing on the POS hardware options that we offer and guarantee compatibility with, visit our Hardware Page.

If you are unsure as to whether your hardware will work with our software you can always try to connect it and test it.  If it does not work it is most likely not compatible with our software and there is little or nothing that we can do to make it work.
